Welcome to the new DTC Sightholder Directory
We are delighted to publish our full list of DTC Sightholders for the 2008 – 2011 Supplier of Choice contract period. Our clients form a global network of Sightholders who will be receiving Sights through wholly-owned and joint-venture DTC operations around the world, with many of the Sightholders receiving Sights in several different countries.
This distribution structure marks a transformation in the way the DTC’s rough diamonds are sold to clients globally, with new, independent joint-venture operations – DTC Botswana and Namibia Diamond Trading Company – selling rough diamonds to clients in Botswana and Namibia respectively for the first time.
All applicants for this new 3 year Sightholder contract have been through an objective and robust process that assessed applicants’ relative performance against clear and objective criteria, taking into consideration the availability of rough diamonds within the particular categories applicants requested.
The selection criteria were designed to identify those applicants that demonstrate excellence in their technical ability, their distribution and marketing ability, and the core strengths of their diamond business. Financial transparency and ethical accountability were mandatory requirements for all applicants.
The new list of Sightholders represents world-class diamond companies, drawing upon all areas of expertise and business models: large and small, across all of the world’s trading centres, from dealers to jewellery manufacturers and retailers.
The DTC would like to extend a warm welcome to the DTC Sightholders qualifying for this contract period, both existing clients who have requalified, and those that are receiving supply from the DTC for the first time. We wish all our clients and the organisations which do business with them a successful and prosperous contract period for 2008 – 2011.
